Star Wars and Me
I think it may be an understatement to say that I'm a huge Star Wars fan.
Literature
I have a large library of Star Wars books at home, and I've made it my goal with this vast collection to own all the adult (as opposed to so-called "young reader") novels ever published and as much of the nonfiction as I can find. You can see my Star Wars book collection here.
News Junkie
My Google Reader has more RSS feeds for Star Wars news than for any other kind, and I use Twitter to keep up to date on Star Wars TV shows, books, comics, events, giveaways, and celebrities.
Other Bits Of Nerdiness
I helped start a Skype discussion group about Star Wars canon with two friends. I also maintain a public Star Wars calendar, which is used mostly for book releases, TV shows, and major events in Star Wars fandom.
Also...It's My Job
In addition to all of that, I work for the TFN family of brands, which includes the two leading Star Wars news sites, TheForce.Net (or "TFN") and Rebelscum.com, as well as the #1 Star Wars podcast, The ForceCast. I'm extremely proud to work for these sites and the podcast, because together they form the leading network of Star Wars news and commentary online. I've read TFN and Rebelscum for a long time, and it's great to work with people who love this stuff as much as I do. I've listened to The ForceCast since November 2006, two months after it launched, and I'm consistently part of the show's live recordings, usually in the chat room (which I moderate) and sometimes on the air.
Here are my specific roles within the TFN family.
Social Media Director: On May 2, 2009, TheForce.Net Content Manager Dustin Roberts hired me to expand and improve the TFN extended family's social media resources. As the Social Media Director, I manage our web presences on sites like Twitter and Facebook, and I interact with readers and listeners. You can see my staff bio on TheForce.Net here.
The Clone Wars Reviewer: On October 3, 2009, I began reviewing episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Cartoon Network's hit animated series, for TheForce.Net. I post my reviews the day after the episode airs.
Senior Web Editor: I am also the Senior Web Editor for ForceCast.Net, the home of all things ForceCast-related. I assist with various facets of the website itself and related web properties, including the listener editorial series and the show's official wiki. I also maintain an index of all ForceCast episodes on the show forum, where I answer listener questions such as "When did this take place?" and "Have the hosts ever done this?"
More information about my history with TheForce.Net/Rebelscum/The ForceCast can be found here.
